False human trafficking allegations

Torben’s attorneys have just obtained information from the Department of Homeland Security confirming false information that led to Torben being investigated and likely his detention.
This week a congressional inquiry produced a memo from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office otherwise known as ICE.
The memo states that:
“On June 23, 2020, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) requested HSI Charlotte investigative assistance regarding Sondergaard, allegedly being involved in human trafficking.”
Torben’s legal team had heard rumors of these false human trafficking allegations, but this is the first time they have been officially confirmed by the US government.
These allegations are absurd and baseless, but as the ICE memo confirms, succeeded in convincing law enforcement to start an investigation.
Strangely, the memo does not offer any mention of the results of the NCSBI request for assistance or the results of an HSI investigation.
Torben never participated in any form of human trafficking and any investigation into this sham allegation would have confirmed so. He has never been charged with any crimes including human trafficking.
However, the fact someone could even convince the NCSBI to ask HSI for assistance with an investigation is concerning.
If anyone has any information about who falsely reported that Torben was involved in human trafficking to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, we want to ask you to please come forward and share what you know.
To learn who is responsible for this would greatly help in the effort to secure Torben’s release.
