Real Life, Real Faith: The Journey of Our Family
I am proud of Jesus and the work He is doing in the lives of my family.
I hope you are doing well out there. I want to share something about my family and how we can see our families follow Christ with everything they have.
I wrote before that I am proud of Jesus in the lives of my family. I want to share with you that, as Christians, we should not walk around trying to be proud in a worldly sense, but we should take pride in different things. We should be proud of our Lord Jesus, proud of the Gospel, and it is also okay to be proud of the work He is doing in people’s lives. I have truly seen that in my own family, and it is beautiful. I believe it is time to see that in many other families out there.
When I came to faith, I was concerned about how many were stopping their pursuit of God. Sadly, we have lost a whole generation of kids who grew up in church. When they get old enough, they leave the faith. Why? Why do people give their lives to Jesus only to fall away shortly after? The reasons are many, but for most, it is because they have never truly been transformed by the true Gospel. Some may have experienced the truth and true freedom, but what they saw in the lives of people around them and in the churches was not real—they witnessed so much that was fake, and they became disappointed with the church or got hurt, ultimately leaving their faith.
We see that all over today, but we also witnessed this 29 years ago when I was born again. What I saw worried me, and it became very important for Lene and me to ensure that our kids would follow Christ to the end, not like we saw around us. However, I was worried about how that would go, as we were never able to give them a "normal" life with a good Sunday school like others, since we were always traveling and living on the road. I thought they needed that. Yes, children need a good church and a supportive youth group.
However, as time went on, I realized that what our kids—and everyone—need is not a safe, sheltered life with a traditional Sunday church and good Sunday school. What they need is a real life—one filled with both pain and joy, but also a lot of miracles. A life where you truly see God at work.
I’m thrilled to share a video we just released that captures our family sharing our life experiences. What you see here is exactly that. This is raw and real, and that is why they follow Christ today. This video features me, my wife Lene, our son, and our daughter-in-law—all of us sharing our insights and wisdom from our lives with God. This video is truly special to me, showcasing God’s work in our family and the individual faith each of us has developed. We see the same for everyone else who has truly stepped into this life. This is so beautiful and how it should be in every family.
First, I want to show this short clip with me and Sonni from the conversation about doubt. Do we ever doubt God's existence? The answer is NO. How can we?
Yes, this is so good! I encourage you to watch the full video as well.
I want to end by saying. Let’s live a real life, laying everything down for Him.
This is what the world needs more than anything else. I also want to encourage you that it is not too late. If you have kids who are not following Christ, have faith and believe they will also have their lives transformed.
I pray that this video will speak to all of you.
Lastly, I want to say again, thank you for your prayers and support. We see God moving in many ways, and in a few weeks, we will be traveling to Europe for meetings in Norway, the Netherlands, and the UK. You can find more information at thelastreformation.com. We are very excited to see what God will be doing in those countries.
Thank you all for your love and support. I hope you take the time to watch this video and be inspired.
Let’s live this life authentically—with its ups and downs, trials and pains, as well as joyful moments and breakthroughs.
God bless you!
