Their First Kiss and a New Beginning for the Whole Family
January 11th was a very special day for us as a family. It was something I both looked forward to and feared at the same time, as it marked the end of something special we had as a family. This truly signifies both a new beginning and the end of an era. Yes, I am talking about our daughter Simone's wedding.
In this case, we had not one but two who left our house, as Joshua has been living with us for the last four years.
Yes, now two rooms are empty in our house, and it is very quiet compared to how it normally is. But this is how it should be, even though we miss them around. This is the goal as parents: that our kids grow up and create their own families. In that way, we are very excited for this new beginning for them.
And it was a very special day. The holiness of God was present in such a beautiful way. They have lived purely; they have never kissed. I shared a very radical speech about what marriage truly is and how it is a covenant that involves blood. The woman is a virgin, and the man is also, and they enter a covenant with each other. This was after we said, "Now you may kiss your bride."
I made a video about it; you can see it here:
Warning: This Video Is Not for Minors
Watch it and share it with your kids and others around you so we can see a new standard arise.
It was powerful, and we are thankful to see how our kids love Jesus and serve Him in this way. Yes, this life has been hard. It has been difficult for us, but also for them. They all suffered a lot during my time in jail and before, when we suddenly had to leave our home country.
Some have asked, "What about the kids? Don’t they need a safer and more normal life?" To this, I will answer: No, we do it for the kids.
What they need is not nice Sunday schools but real life—a real life as disciples of Jesus with everything that follows. When they see this real life, they will choose it for themselves, as there is nothing else this world can offer.
I want to say, let’s not give up. Even if you don’t see this in your family, live for Jesus and hold on to the promise that you and your household will serve the Lord.
Let’s stand together in prayer and believe that we will see whole families serving Jesus together. This is how God wants it to be, and He has the last word.
Thank you for your love and support toward us all.
Blessings,
